My last day in Los Angeles was mostly spent getting ready to travel to Australia. I had some errands to run, but took some time for a relaxing massage to help me unwind before the long flight to Sydney. If you ever happen to be in the Los Angeles area, I would highly recommend him. He came recommended to me by a friend as well. His website is http://www.cabodyworks.com. Because my massage was located in Hollywood, I took some time for a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard. I located the stars of some of my favorite artists in motion pictures and music, but searched in vain for Madonna’s star. After doing a Google search, I learned a fun fact– Madonna was actually awarded a star in 1990, but she told them she wasn’t interested. Hollywood Boulevard is also lined with some great works of architecture such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the El Capitan Theatre, Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre, and the Hollywood First National Bank Building. While the streets were teeming with tourists from all over the world, walking down Hollywood Boulevard was an enjoyable way to kill some time before a really long flight.
I had lunch at Urban Masala, an Indian fast casual restaurant along Hollywood Boulevard. In an expensive city like Los Angeles, it’s nice to find something cheap and tasty. I had the chicken tikka masala bowl for $6.95.
I made my way back to Santa Monica to collect my things and made my way to LAX. Because traffic in LA is so unpredictable, I left myself more than ample time prior to my departure. I was very excited to begin the international part of my journey, thousands of miles away in Australia!
